What is a Strangle Strategy?

A strangle involves buying or selling an OTM Call (CE) and an OTM Put (PE) at different strikes. It's cheaper than a straddle but needs a larger move to profit.

  • Short Strangle: Sell OTM CE + OTM PE. Profit if underlying stays between the two strikes until expiry.
  • Long Strangle: Buy OTM CE + OTM PE. Profit if underlying moves sharply beyond either breakeven.
  • Width = 1: One strike OTM on each side. Width = 2 = two strikes, etc.
