What is a Straddle Strategy?

A straddle involves buying or selling both a Call (CE) and Put (PE) at the same strike price and expiry. The ATM straddle premium reflects the market's expected move size.

  • Straddle Premium: CE LTP + PE LTP — the total cost to buy the straddle (or max profit when selling).
  • Breakeven (Long): ATM Strike ± Premium — the underlying must move beyond this for a long buyer to profit.
  • PCR > 1: More put OI than call OI — bullish bias. PCR < 1 = bearish bias.
