What is Relative Outperformance?
Relative outperformance measures how a stock performs compared to its sector peers — not in absolute terms, but relative to what the whole sector is doing. A stock that rises 3% when its sector is up 1% is outperforming by 2%.
Rel 1D / 5D / 20D / 60D: Stock return minus sector average return for that period. Positive = beating the sector. Negative = lagging.
TF▲ dots: 4 dots — one per timeframe (1D, 5D, 20D, 60D). Green dot = outperforming sector on that timeframe.
RS Score: Weighted composite — 60D carries the most weight (40%), followed by 20D (30%), 5D (20%), 1D (10%). Reflects consistent outperformance, not just a one-day spike.
Outperformer: Stock beats the sector average on 3 or more of the 4 timeframes.
Underperformer: Stock beats the sector average on 1 or fewer timeframes.
How to use this screener
Use Outperformers with Bullish EMA + Bullish Supertrend for high-conviction long setups — these stocks are leading their sector and have technical confirmation. Use Underperformers with Bearish signals for short setups or stocks to avoid.
What is Relative Outperformance vs Relative Strength?
Relative Outperformance and Relative Strength are related but different. Relative Strength compares a stock's performance to the broad market index (e.g. Nifty 50). Relative Outperformance compares a stock's performance to its own sector peers — showing how much more (or less) it gained compared to the average stock in its sector.
Columns in the Relative Outperformance Screener
7-day Outperformance: Percentage by which the stock has outperformed or underperformed its benchmark index in the past seven days.
3-month Outperformance: Percentage by which the stock has outperformed or underperformed in the past three months.
Relative Outperformance wrt Index: Shows insights on stocks that outperform in the last 7 days (short and medium term) and last 60 days. Stocks outperforming in recent periods are the best candidates for short-term trades.

What causes a stock to outperform? Factors such as favourable market conditions, strong company fundamentals, customer loyalty, and industry tailwinds can cause a stock to outperform its peers.
How can you tell if a stock is outperforming the market? If the stock's return is higher than the benchmark return over the same period, it is outperforming.
